Vocational and Professional School Guidance Office
The Educational, Vocational and Professional Guidance Office (GOEV) is an essential service that offers support and advice to help individuals at all stages of life make informed decisions about their studies and careers. It acts as a guide, providing information, self-knowledge tools and planning strategies so that people can build educational and professional paths aligned with their interests and potential.
Functions of GOEVP
Information and Awareness:
Promote activities and information sessions on school, vocational and professional options for students of all educational levels and age groups.
Disseminate information on educational pathways (basic, secondary and post-secondary), including scientific-humanistic, specialized artistic, professional, apprenticeship and education and training courses.
Support students in the process of applying for higher education and in building their life project.
Promote and coordinate the Vocational and Life Project (PVV) discipline, when applicable.
Guidance and Counseling:
Provide individual or group guidance to students, especially in crucial years (such as 9th and 12th grade), to help them choose courses and careers.
Support the enrollment process, ensuring that students make informed choices that are consistent with their interests and aptitudes.
Promote self-knowledge, helping students explore their personal profile, career, interests and tastes.
Carry out skills assessments and, when necessary, apply psychometric tests to assist in professional counseling.
Provide psychological support to students whenever necessary.
